Hi guys, I posted this on the yahoo BRG:

How about it gang, should we try remixing another album? We've had suggestions about doing solo stuff, so how about we try a BRG version of All Things Must Pass. Would anyone be interested in contributing? It would have to be all new, not previously uploaded or podcasted anywhere, and no mp3 sources if possible.

There are a lot of sources for doing remixes: Beware of Abkco, Songs For Patti, the ATMP Acetate, Making of ATMP, Art of Dying etc, as well as the isolation sets from ATMP and Making of ATMP (if anyone would need the latter two I can torrent on demonoid).

Everybody who contributes gets on the album, but try to do more than one mix to make it easier to pick the best ones.

So far I've done mixes for Wah Wah, Run of the Mill, Art of Dying, Awaiting On You All, and Beware of Darkness. Veech also has a BoD mix and I think is working on I Dig Love. That leaves 11 more tunes to cover.

I have in mind just doing a single disc and not a double. We should try to do all 17 regular songs, although it wouldn't necessarily be necessary, and a short version of one of the jam songs (with vocals added?) would certainly be acceptable too. Any of the other songs from the sessions would be fair game as well, like Golders Green, Dehra Dun, I Live For You, Down To The River, etc.

We could shoot for sometime in Sept as far as sending in submissions, maybe another month for revising/editing, and a release date sometime in November.

Great idea! But not sure if I will have anything come to mind to do. Looks like most of the songs I would be interested in are taken, but who knows?

No list of "taken" songs other than what I mentioned in the first post. Work on anything you want, but 17 songs doesn't leave much room for duplicates. Andy's sent me a version of Apple Scruffs already, and Brendon says he'll do All Things Must Pass, that still leaves half the album up for grabs. And if somebody does a better mix of one of the ones I already did, I'd certainly use it.

hmmm, looks like I willhave to re-download the ATMP isolations you did. They got lost in my computer crash. Where were those at? Maybe that can juice up some inspirations....

I'm gonna do them all! ....well why not?
These past couple of nights i've done 6 tracks, so i may as well carry on.
I'll just keep the majority for my own project.

Hmm, you work slightly faster than I do. Usually it takes me a year to do 6 tracks. LOL

The toup ATMP isolations were a DHT torrent from the BRG files section, and the Making of ATMP isos were on Piratebay which I couldn't access a moment ago. I'll probably torrent both on demonoid soon.

Cool! Thanks!

Yeah, MP3J is a remixing machine. He'll have the whole album done by the time I get to one!

Are there any rules on this? only GH elements? or Beatles/solo Beatles only elements? or anything goes with other music as well from other groups?

Not really any rules. Mainly GH elements but use the others if needed, like if you need a drum beat or something to use in the background. A mashup of one of the ATMP songs with 4 songs from other artists I probably wouldn't use. My own mixes are pretty easy ones, just syncing up the vocals/drums from the cd with some of the instruments from the Making Of set. I would use a mashup of My Sweet Lord and He's So Fine.

Well, this is being fun! I have submitted 2 mixes already, one for "Out Of The Blue" and one for "It's Johnny's Birthday" and 1/2 (incomplete, in the workds) for "Thanks For The Pepperoni." I hear MP3J submitted one as well! Very cool! Hope you do a couple more, this is a big album!

Are any of our other regulars in here working on any mixes for it? BDJ? Phattbuzz? And Phil Retrospector and Richard Starlight and Useo? You may not have joined in on these Beatles Remixers Group releases, but they are a lot of fun and get lots of people to listen!

So, how goes it with everyone on this?

Or maybe MP3J could chat with CCC? Or DJ Not I?
Ok, that might be pushing it...

Yes i'm enjoying it too. I took a break after the first rush of tracks, but i returned to it last night. I have around 55 mins of mix done...covering most tracks in one way or another....these will be in my own ATMP project, because many wouldn't be eligible for the main project since they have mp3 sourced samples.
I don't know of anyone else attempting tracks.
Useo was taken ill recently, i don't even know if he's in a condition to try. (Hope you're recovering Dave, if you're reading).
I doubt that CCC would be involved, because (a) he's not been sighted in the last 12 months since Cracked Pepper....i hope he's working on the White Album!!
And...(b) He'd be doing full-on mash-ups anyway.
