Well, only one actual review of the disc set, and I guess that was disappointing.

after listening to this, I am only impressed with 2 songs on this compilation. I think these releases have gone down hill since the first couple of releases. most of these I could listen to A/B Road discs they sound no different. There is no explaination of the songs like there was in past releases.

these remixes should be just that.REMIXES, not a mashup of two completely unrelated songs that go nowhere for brilliance.

I give 2 thumbs done on this release. sorry guys but, I am not impressed at all with this release.

Nice artwork though!!

better luck next time I guess

Review of: Disc 1 is all completely new material, never before heard, all original mashups and remixes.

"A fresh approach in using those tedious "Nagra" reels"

01: Nice "Live" bootleg nagra sounding track .... good to hear this track in which it was nature's intent
02: Sounding not much different to the LP version perhaps taking down the "Spector" wall of sound a little bit in production quality
03: Mixture of various versions but very consistent in the mix, very well done :)
04: George sings in angst with the happy go lucky Macca track very well done tempo wise :)
05: Drunken little ditty at least the track didn't suffer form a nagra hangover and was a rather humorous listen
06: Out of synch vocals maybe needed to stretch out the temp or slow down the vocals, too lush .. a better vocal choice would have been "The Long and Winding Road"
07: Rocking good number! .... was she really only seventeen  ....... Very well done!! :D
08: Billy's Rooftop Blitz! good composite the "beep-beep" ending could have been used as the central foundation for the track
09: Goofy Macca Version, but well intended to be a windy city pop song buster!
10: Sgt, Macca's Strumming Hearts Club Band Version ..... could have used some strings lifted from "She's Leaving Home"
11: Rack-a-billy's Strptease version, very well done I would have never thought that horns would have worked but the do so well here!! :D
12: Sgt' Macca's Stinging Knives Club-foot Band version, very chaotic too much, too late in the mix :wobble:
13: Hamburg Sally's Two Step version, short but oh so sweet! Good Fun! :D

.... in my humble opinion BDJ stepped up to bat and knocked the ball right out of the park 8)
.... on to round two

Thanks for the review, that is great of you to do. Yes, BDJ's are also favorites of mine on the disc. I guess mine didn't go over so well.

Well to be honest, you've done better with "Let it Be" tracks in the past ... one which is included in this set which is "Rain on Us" which is still an all time favorite of mine of yours :D .... this was a rather hard task but still a pleasant one based on the "live nagra"approach (which rings true to the intent of the original LP)

Just finished listening to the other two discs and stand out there all belongs to you!

Second disc
Dig It .... was nice to hear a different whimsical version
The Long and Winding River ... nicely captured blues rendition!
Drive You Blue .... although don't you think that "Drive My Car" would have worked better with One After 909

Third disc
Rain On Us (but of course)!
Get Good ( excellent vocal pairing) a little high on the bass that should have been lowered down it's too prominent in the mix but still a overall winner!! :D

Quote:
This Let It Be Remixers is a massive project, expertly compiled by TJT. It
consist of of no less than 3 CD's, and a video disc. Many thanks to TJT for
producing this BRG release, and making (all?) the videos ! There is beautifully
designed artwork and tracklist, by Haystack Pudding Graphics. Unfortunaletly,
there are no 'liner notes' with details of each track.

Perhaps someone is willing to comnpile the track details, will be valuable for
later generations.

Here, I will only go through CD1, which is the main CD: it contains 100% new
remixes of Let It Be tracks, consistiog of 100 % Beatles material. As such, this
CD is a a true 'Alternative Let It Be', a must for every collector to file next
to Let It Be Naked.

01. Two Of Us - Gabriel: this is a fast rendition of Two Of Us. Suppose it
contains the 'best' take (or takes) of the fast version. I think Gabriel
manufactured a 'suitable ending' himself, nicely done.

02. Dig A Pony - FerBeaT. A 'wide stereo' remix, which makes it easier to make
out the individual instruments, in particular the keyboards. Sounds like a
combination of 2 takes, one being the released version ?

03. Across The Universe - Cycle Bubble. An excellent sounding combination of
various versions, omitting much of the unnecessary sound effects. The track
appears to fade from mono to stereo and back, as more instruments are brought
into the mix, ending with a full finale (including Yoko, unfortunately).

04. I Me Back - BDJ. One of the few mash-ups on this CD. Since both I Me Mine
and Get Back feature on Let It Be, I suppose this mash-up was allowed here.

05. Dig It - CBoone. Sounds like a mash-up, but could be a remix of some
unreleased Let It Be sessions. Dig It is not one of my favourite tracks, so this
one is unfortunately lost on me.

06. Let It Be Something - TJT. Two very clean isolations combined into one
mash-up (there appear to be more than I first thought....). Parts in the verse
mash well, but Paul seems to lose it in the middle eight.

07. Maggie May - BDJ. Another mash-up, extending Maggie M from a meagre 38 sec
to a full song. Contains vocals form Let It Be, the LIB sessions, and Lennon's
home tapes. Legend has it that the Beatles spelled Maggie as Mae, to secure
writer's credits for this traditional.

08. I've Got A Feeling - TJT. A crisp sounding remix, emphasizing the keyboard
and vocals over the guitars. I think it uses unreleased takes fromn the rooftop;
nice hilarious moment when Lennon gets the words wrong !

09. One After 909 - FerBeaT. Alternative take, nicely reworked. Paul's vocals
are more ad-lib than the relaesed version. Good raw crunch sound on the guitar.

10. The Long And Winding Road - Gabriel. This brought a smile to my face; I'm
sure Paul will be 'not amused' ! it is basically a 'fully dressed' version of
The Road, adding a large dose of Mantovani strings, and an extra piano part.

11. For You Blue - BDJ. Another mash-up (Down and Out, Ringo Starr).!. Gives For
You Blue a very different feel, and a more finished sound.

12. Get Morning - TJT. George Martin would call this an 'avant-garde' version of
Get Back. It s truly minimalistic, and the isolations are teriffic. Ringo gives
it all he's got, not sure where his track is taken from ?

13. Don't Let Me Shame - TJT. This mash-up actually works out better than you
would expect from two so diverse tracks. I
think it is Ain't She Sweet from the Let It Be sessions, which also featured on
their first (German) record; this way, the Fabs combine their first record with
their last !

All in all, a refreshing look at Let It Be, with a good variety of Remixes,
unreleased versions and all-Beatles mash-ups !

(will review CD2 when I find time. Or anyone volunteers ?)

I usually don't convert to mp3 then upload. I upload what the original files were presented in.
