Sad to say, it looks like the You Can't Mash That series has died (or at least slowed to a molasses crawl). The last volume (YCMT-31) was released almost two years ago -- October 2012. Before that, there were years when 4-5 volumes were released!

If I had the skills and the equipment, I'd take a stab at some submissions myself. But alas, I'm embarrassed to say I can only enjoy the fruits of others. Is Volume 32 somewhere in the near future? Anybody???

I'm also yearning for WTF-72 from the good MP3J. Or has that series also bit the dust?

I also think WTF-71 may be THE END.
It came out way back in July '13, I think.

Time to ask the question again: Has YCMT bit the big one? It's now been 2.5 years since the last volume. Lots of individual mash-ups have been posted (and great most of them are!), but it'd be nice for someone to select some of the latest & best and string them together into a new YCMT. I don't have the talent, or I'd take a stab at it.

Just askin"...

Finally . . Yes !!
( funny you didn't point that at the custodians of the series since #28 --- me and Useo )

I came here today to create a post/thread on this very topic, and saw your question . . . so allow me to answer here, then use that to also create that post:

Never for a second imagining that it would drag on for 4 freakin' years, I'd been trying w/ Useo to find the right time for him to coach me on a few of the nonintuitive functions of the app Virtual DJ.

Volume 32 has been essentially laid-out since March of 2012.
Many wonderful tracks from MP3J, TJT, BDJ . . these were even set in the sequence of the long-mix / single-track, but a couple of my pieces ? -- They have a monumental grandeur . . an emotional resonance, that makes them feel to me like my own Pet Sounds, so I sure wanna' get `em right . . right ?

From what Useo had shown me of the VDJ app, it was great at sliding the pitch of the pella so you could hear it work, then lock it in and save it. But the manual for the app was vast . . and nowhere in it could I ever find simple instructions like "press this, click that".

So some simple tips have always been "next week we'll do that and I'll screen-record the lesson session for my own manual !"

But it kept getting bumped, and it was eventually "thsi is getting absurd !! . . it's been 2 . . . 3 . . . 4 years !!"

Last Wednesday, April 27th 2016, we finally did it, man . . and it went great and I'm just now levelling off that urge to work on 9 tracks all at once, and getting the work done !

It's coming . . . can't say how many weeks or months right now, but it's a' comin. . if anyone still cares ?
