Here's a reconstruction of (mainly) the right channel during the choruses. I remixed to get the second (sloppy) lead vocal track out of there, then to reinforce the primary vocal, and even to imagine a bit of the harmony that some of us sing for ourselves whenever we hear this track.

Yeah, nice, I like these 'upgrades'. Who sings the harmonies ?
I also felt that It's Only Love is a bit of quicky in production. The lyrics are rather lame, perhaps that's the reason they didn't spend a lot of effort on it. But the melody and the chord changes are fine, very Lennon. I think he sort of retruned to this in Lucy in the Sky.

Nice production, as you know i prefer something a bit more radical, but this is very well done.

Thanks, BDJ & MPJ ~

It's John on harmony as well--manipulations of the lead vocal track. The hardest thing was putting the tambourine back in once I got the second lead vocal track out. The harmonies were a snap compared to that.

I agree about the lyric v. the melody ~ you can almost hear John despising the words as he sings them to that sweet and simple tune. But all the instruments sound precise and snappy. Amazing that they could get such a tight result with what I agree must have been not all that much effort. The sloppy second vocal track would probably never have been allowed to stand in a recording John really cared about, such as Lucy in the Sky, etc.

I like thinking of this as an "upgrade"! 8) Thanks a lot
