Thanks for choosing DTG....great song.
It's a tough one though...hardest one we've had yet.
This will sort the men from the boys!
Very nice illustration!

OK, mark this one on your calendars, shock of shockers, this is the time I actually went first. You may never see it again! I have had quite a lull, and here you go.

Day Tripper Girl is always an inspiration, and I have a goody for her. :D

Can You Take Me Across The Universe

"Across The Universe" by The Beatles vs. "In The Park" by George Harrison (Wonderwall) vs. "Can You Take Me Back" By The Beatles

Dedicated to Day Tripper Girl

Nice idea TJT,
I like the use of the World Wildlife version spread amongst the "Hums Wild" version...(always my favourite version)...but the sitar from Wonderwall is off-putting because it's out of key. If you could pitch that to match the rest it would be much better.

...i have no ideas for this challenge yet, it's a good job July has 31 days

Ok, that version has been retired, and I have a new revision of the song along the same ideas. Upon relistening several times, I missed a couple drum beats and who knows if I got Because pitched right (probably not), but that section is short, so here is my second try....

Because Time And Space Are Free To Take Back The Universe

Across The Universe vs. Because vs. Can You Take Me Back vs. Free As A Bird effects vs. No Time Or Space (George Harrison - Electronic Sound)

I wasn't happy with the things i was trying as individual tracks ...so i put all the bits into a little mini mix.
Features.....
Beatles, Beck, Ravers On Dope, Girls Aloud, Laibach, Stevie Wonder, and other samples.

Good job as always. I especially liked the Uptight section. But the song seemed a bit too "busy" to me, a few too many parts I think, but take that with a grain of salt....

I liked your 2nd version TJT.....the drum loop fits better now. The introduction of the "Electronic Sound" sample is a little jarring...right where it first comes in...maybe a bit quieter there. And i'm damned if i can hear "Because" in there! Are you sure you uploaded the right version!?

Thanks for the comment about mine....it's bound to be a little busy, cos there are about 6 boots rolled into one there. I have since re-pitched Beck in that....he was a touch high....i'll put the newer version in WTF 52....which is coming along nicely....a couple of crackers awaiting your ears!

hehe, thanks! yeah, it is a little jarring, but I kind of liked it. worked much better than wonderwall. The Because part, glad you didn't notice! It is in almost all of the "Jai Guru David" (or whatever it is) parts, then it goes away, it is there several times, but short. If you didn't notice, then it couldn't have been too far off! Perhaps you need to listen in headphones, much more noticeable than on speakers, I found.

Wish I had thuught of that ! On the other hand, my voice wouldn't carry this as well as in your track....

Lovely idea, is actually a reverse Lennon tone poem (converting song to poem).

Here's another one. A bit of a weird one again.
Ingredients include...lots of samples from Across The Universe (several versions)....a couple of drum samples, an accapella of "Wordy Rappinghood" by Chicks On Speed, and one or two other samples.

just a bit disjointed for me,
I like the ideas, and the choices of material, but not so much the execution.

That one was kind of on the nightmarish side! Add some Revolution 9, and that might have topped it off! Now I can't sleep!
