If you listen to the Volume 7 No Lead Guitar, No Bass, No Drums, (I expected to listen to the vocals alone) but the game only get a little bit more less sounds on the instruments, but vocals are not naked.

Is the same with the microphone, I´ll try to not sing but vocal is there with same volume.

I think this is the answer I was looking (though certainly not hoping for), thanks!
So it seems from what I read that the vocals are always there, no matter if a mike plugged in or which mode is choosen. Do they cut out once one starts singing or is one actullay singing along them? Oh well, doesn`t matter - this sadly reduces our possible number of permutations.

Hi, I thought it was time to stop lurking and say a big thank you to Paulo, Mike et al for mining so much Beatles old-but-gold!
I just heard With a Little Help... without drums and it struck me that the beginning of the song could actually sound as effective, or possibly even MORE effective like that - i.e. starting with the tom fill at the end of the first chorus. Amazing.
Does anyone know if the game mixes the audio in real time, or if it just crossfades between a series of prepared mixes (e.g. 01a_no_guitar, 01b_no_bass, 01c_no_drums, etc)? I wondered if this knowledge might help to determine the most reliable method for isolating vocals etc.

Hmm, if the game does NOT mix in realtime, then we'll never have true isolations.....

Hi everyone!

De-lurking here.. thanks for all the great mixes so far!
I've downloaded a handful of FLACs, but I cannot manage a whole heap of 500-odd meg rar files.

With that in mind.. does anyone have reasonable quality mp3 collections of these mixes they could upload?

I know I'm sacrificing quality for smaller size, but bandwidth here is limited, and I'd love to hear more extractions... if anyone's shrunk them down a bit, I'd be most grateful!

By my reckoning it would take approx. 4GB to store prepared Dolby Digital 5.1 mixes of all the possible instrument muting permutations...

~150 minutes of Beatles audio @ ~448kbps (typical AC3 bitrate) * 8 (full band, w/o guitar, w/o bass, w/o drums, w/o drums+guitar, w/o drums+bass, w/o bass+guitar, w/o bass+drums+guitar)

I know the PS3 outputs 5.1, but then the PS3 disc would have plenty of room for the above; but if the Xbox also outputs "genuine" 5.1 and the Xbox game disc is only DVD capacity, then I guess it wouldn't have room for all those prepared surround mixes plus all the other game content, which would mean that the game must be designed to mix the audio from discrete stems when it is played.

Made a mash-up using the new isolations. These make it possible to obtain a better quality of the vocals; and no 'phasing' etc. effects.

listen at

or

fo the lossless version.

That's real cool man.

Wasn't this going to have their Bob Marley cover "Easy Skousing (Skousing It Easy)" on the flipside?

nice one BDJ.

Thanks for this. I love it too. Got several compilations of Beatles reggae covers and I guess I have this one. I'm gonna check it. I really love it.

The only way to remove vocals in the game is to have somebody on online multiplayer to fail the song you're playing.
That will completely remove vocals. Unfortunately, once someone fails a song, there is a destined time limit.

Has anyone tried capturing a recording of this yet?

So in theory, you could fail at different times in multiple "takes", and then create full vocal free mix from a patchwork of the different fails?

but you can never have the beginning of the track, since you have to fail for a certain period of time before it stops.

by the way, i havent tried this yet.
gonna do this later tonight

best,
M.

You could have the vocalist disconnect from the song as soon as it starts.
