What a nice idea! And pretty well executed too. :) Thanks.
The only downside is the extracted feel of the end result, but i know you're working with limited resources ;)

I took a couple of the 5.1 HCTS extractions and brought those through Audition's Center Channel Extraction tool, Then I used the bandaid tool to kill some more of the snare. There wasn't much I could do to get rid of all the extra instrumentation behind the vocals. Tried various methods with various versions of HCTS I have, This one seamed to be the cleanest. Originally, I was thinking of mashing it up with Dear Prudence but that's in D whereas Here Comes The Sun is in A.

Really enjoying the efforts for this song. Had time to listen a bit today. Loving BDJ track featuring Riddim. MP3J's track with Meatloaf is quite nice. Didn't know how that was going to work out at first. Kudos.

Just wondering if this month's challenge could meet with a little rain for a interesting forcast :wink: (see track info below)
Good Luck Everyone :D

ARTIST: Eric Clapton
TITLE: Let It Rain
Lyrics and Chords

The rain is falling through the mists
Of sorrow that surrounded me
The sun could never thaw away
The mist that lays around me

/ D - Am - / C G D - / :

{Refrain}
Let it rain, let it rain
Let your love rain down on me
Let it rain, let it rain
Let it rain, rain, rain

/ D Am D Am / C G D - / :

...

{Refrain}

I actually did try this combination and it didn't work at all to me, sorry about that. Nice try tho! Maybe I will still come up with something. I like Magoocus' vocal extraction from rockband, so surely something will come to mind.

Oh Well, probable in the wrong key as I was thinking conceptually not logically within the same musical keys :(

My favorite dimension of this one is the interesting rhythmic traps this idea set for you and how you solved them.

cheers,

I Saw her Standing There and HCTS have a remarkably similar structure. Of course, the poduction differs so strongly that the likeness is easily lost.

Hence this re-mash; used Take and Take 2 of ISHST; these have the vocals nicely separated, so I panned the instruments left and right in the mix. The HCTS vocals are form the Rockband isolations.

Well, I Saw The Sun Standing There went down like a tonne of bricks :( , so here's my last and final attempt at HCTS.......

It's George with the famous BDJ Tearoom orchestra; a complete remake of HCTS, only vocals + moog from Abbey Road. Not spectacuLarly neW, but it does give it a new sound, and the song is less dominated by Paul's (excellent) bass playing.

Did a lot of compression on the piano, to make it sound Beatlesque. It now looks more like a harmonica... :D

Sorry, BDJ, i'd downloaded the ISHST/HCTS mash.....but i'd forgotten to listen! lol ooops!
It's well arranged, but i just can't get the two songs to gel in my head.

I like your "cover" much more.....very accomplished playing!
Perhaps you and Phattbuzz should team up to produce something!

No need to like this mash. For the record: this is the tempo at which the Voodoo Glow Skulls recorded HCTS. :!:
