The Beatles (Hey Bulldog) vs The Bar Kays (Soul Finger)

Also...a little mix of "rejects", featuring The Beach Boys,
Good Day Sunshine, Ob La Di, etc.

Wow! Listened to this right after BDJ's latest Bulldog mix - Quite the contrast. This is great. So funky. The two songs work real well together. I believe this is one of my favorite mashes of yours.

KUDOS,

Pick up the bulldog- I like this a lot.Makes john sound really tough with his vocal timbre.FUn backing that works well.Great geetar sample.

Hey Sheepdog !-This is really good too.I liked it even more as it has a convincing arrangement & sound.Big congrats on this one.

BulldogFinger-What a humdinger.Take a big bow for this one.Super-playable,innit.

BulldogMix-A total blast.Could be too long for some, but it had a fine flow for me.Good day sunshine, obladi,it hits a lot of bases & well.
Is quite great.

The Beatles visit funky town in this free-flowing re-mix with the Average White Band. Miraculously, the songs fit quite well together, and Hey Bulldog settles nicely to the groove.

Listen, in BDJ's Cellar of Remixes:

I am doing a bit of catching up, so today is BDJ day, I will get to the others later.

This isn't a favorite of mine, mainly because I don't care much for Average White Band, so because of that my vote doesn't count. But I thought it was well done. Especially liked the guitar solo, and some terrific vocal placement in most parts!

Good smooth track. very original to use the Doors in this song, and it features a dog too ! The repetition lends a sort of hypnotic feel to it.

now that was a little wierd to hear it like this, but this is really great! I don't think I would like it without hearing the Lennon vocals, but this is a very interesting rendering of it! I like it, good job.

Ok, other people's contributions later....

Wow, terrific job, that was a lot of fun! The Joe Cocker piano seemed a little fast for the song, so on occassions vocals off slightly in placement, but I really like the idea for this one, and the songs used. I cracked up at the "Bulldog Bow Wow Wow" section.

hmmmm indeed. highly likely that lennon heard the Bar-Kays (and liked it). listen to Beef Jerky (Walls & bridges), and tell me what you hear.....

NB used the Bar-Kays in my remix of Lucy in the Sky, still available on BDJ's Cellar of remixes.
