From the BRG YahooGroup:

Bob wrote:
Announcing the new album "Blends" I know you are all busy with the latest BRG
project, but for those of you who like me, were waiting for the latest TTNE to
submit your mixes here's a little project.

On TTNE 6 Veech mentioned that there were several blends included, so if you
have any Blends lying around please submit them for this release.

There are many Beatles covers by bands, orchestras, sitar people etc, the idea
is to blend these with The Beatles vocal track.

I've got four already

She loves you
Here comes the Sun
Mystery Train
A Day In The Life.

The "Yellow Submarine" blend on TTNE6 was superb, someone uploaded a version of
"Memphis Tennesse" a while back which would have been perfect but unfortunately
I only listened to it, I didn't download it.

I'm sure you guys at the Remixers Forum have probably got some examples
gathering dust, email me if you are interested.

regards

Bob

Thanks for making the announcement TJT.

The reason I wanted put this project up to the Remixers Forum is that you guys seem to be very fast with your mixes and mash ups, also with your song of the month challenge you may already have what I'm looking for.

I want this album to be the fastest BRG release ever, announce today, release by the end of the month!

The tracks I have so far....

A Day in the Life...............Beatles/George Martin, Jeff Beck
Anna...............................Beatles/George Martin
Blackbird..........................Beatles/Moog
Eleanor Rigby...................Beatles/George Martin
Here Comes the Sun.........George Harrison/John Williams
Junk................................McCartney Demo/Final take
Mystery Train...................Lennon/Beck
She Loves ****.................Beatles German/English

The main rule for "Blends" is that they have a Beatle lead vocal.

So far the submissions have been "safe", I'd like some more "rocky" tracks, you can "blend" with Beatles alternate versions, other artists versions, and you can augment a Beatles track with instruments from alternate versions.

Let me know if you already have something, or are going to be working on something for the album, this could be the album of the month contest!

Looking forward to Beatles/Slash, Beatles/Hendrix, Beatles/Garage band, Beatles......................?

I think that covers it.

Regards

Bob

I've burned a CD, got the running order, couple of tweaks needed on the volumes,
front, back, and inside covers complete, but....

Ferbeat has a couple of tracks, but has trouble with the internet at the moment,
so we'll have to wait, because it would be a crime to miss him out.

Also when the tracks are received where will they go in the running order, and
what volume adjustments would have to be made?

So the present line-up is this;

Come Together
Here Comes The Sun
Don't Let Me Down
Blackbird
Mystery Train
She Loves ****
Anna
She Said, She Said
Eleanor Rigby
I'm Only Sleeping
Got To Get You Into My Life
Dear Prudence
Helter Skelter
A Day In The Life

Hopefully it will still be available for download for the weekend.

Special thanks to Mp3J for being so fast with his contributions, and BDJ whose enthusiasm matched my own.

regards

Bob

I just got the set...listening now. :)

For the audio-freaks out there......my tracks were submitted as mp3 files, since i was using mp3 sources.
For some weird reason they appear in the set as flac files! :/

Hi I'm looking for track by track reviews, or any reviews really, to see how the album has been received.

regards

Bob

As a whole I'm really enjoying this premise .....

My favorite was "Come Together" a very well done beat :D

She Loves **** is something perhaps would have put a big grin on Lennon's mug

Strawberry "Mystery Train" was a great ride it was seamless in its transition from and through the "fields"

I'll post more comments the more I hear this wonder!

What happened to "Junk................................McCartney Demo/Final take" :?:

What happened to "Junk................................McCartney Demo/Final take"

I was expecting a mixture of tracks but "Junk" was the only one to feature Beatles/Beatles and not a cover version, so it's still there for an album that has more range than this one.

Thanks for the comments.

Many thanks.

Hi Mark,
I asked three years ago for someone to post and I'm not surprised you got no response.
I didn't. But If I do get a copy I will post here for you.
I'm trying to get Tuned To A Natural E Vol.7 also.

Take Care,
Rob
