Has this run it's course?
My own enthusiasm had died down for a while, and the lack of an August comp seemed to suggest this was the case with others too. Whither SOTM?

Or, next person to post picks a song.
But purleeeeeese! ....make it a song that has a reasonable chance of getting nice results, via the existance of quality pellas/instr/multis/isolations/looping capabilties etc!

And if this does continue...from now on the first person to come up with an idea for a song will start the thread at the beginning of each month...in other words i won't select someone to choose!
But...if you've chosen a song....you should give others a chance to pick for subsequent months...this will be fair considering timezones etc.

Or....any other ideas for comps?

here's an idea....pick any NON beatles song...and we have to use that, mixed with the Fabs??

Or.....something like the GYBO weekend challenge where the thread starter provides pella and instr and users then use either or both....and they should be of different tunes!

I like your idea for another "challenge" but perhaps just a "mystery beatle" sound file(s) of two to three "pellas/instr/multis/isolations/loops" could be posted with intent of building around that to create a mash or remix just a thought

But the use of different song titles does promote brian cells to collide in a more challenging way :D

Basically, I'm fine with any kind of 'challenge'. I'm like Paul, I work best on a deadline

I didn't submit in August, for an accumulation of reasons: lack of suitable isolations for Dream #9, and demands for BRG productions, the Blend CD etc.

OK, here we go !

To make the Challenge accessible to more (potential) Remixers, I have put together a package with all the isolations (instruments and vocals). Oh, i almost forgot, the song is Don't Let Me Down. :D

I hope that we will hear remixes of old an new remixers. All You Need Is the files package, and suitable software. Audacity (free!) will do fine, i use Adobe Audition (V1.5 is almost free...).

There are six* tracks, all synchronised to 88 bpm. So you can cut/copy/paste/loop anywhere, as long as you cut 'on the beat'.

So, there are no excuses for not submiting to this month's challenge. 8)

Find the isolations at:

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=6NJFW9SU

*: I made the rythm section myself. There is an extra keyboards track, with my own 'clean' keyboards. So not 100% Beatles, but hey, it's free !

I have actually been looking on the forums for the past two months waiting for a new challenge. So I'm glad a new one is posted, and I can get my foot in the door.

Why have your own ideas if you can steal TJT's ?

And yes, the vocals are just out........

The vocals synced rather nicely and timed beautifully I would have never thought that such a bluesy number could have been a "psycho" rocker! Interesting to hear this Heads track without the manic Byrne vocals  Very well done should have been included in BRG "Let It Be" remix although it will be a wonderful addition to the faux "Hey Jude" : Beatles Again parody compilation of all the mixes and mashes I've discovered and enjoyed here over the past few years that matches the original album's track listing.

Thanks for sharing :D

Thank you ! Timing was indeed a bit tricky, but most vocals found a place somewhere.

Is your Hey Jude compilation availbale somewhere ?

After I re-arrange the tracks to include your delicious cut I'll post the track listing this weekend :) .... perhaps you may have all of them already to make a copy for yourself if not PM me later and we'll think of something to get them to you

Bdj-A right nice track indeed.Good vocal placement with a fine,seamless arrangement.Quite a successful mix.

Tjt-Also an inspired pairing with strong sound.I groaned when I saw how short it was.More!
