I would like to have an exclusive You Can't Mash That Christmas volume.

There have been a few remixes and mashups floating around over the years, plus the Colbert Report attempt to remix the White Album to xmas music, so there are some decent ones out there to make part of a collection with. But I think if we had some combined efforts, we could make up something within the next month, like the Song challenge of the month, but the challenge be something xmassy? multiple song entries appreciated. So, I will compile and release, if you all like that idea. Maybe, You Can't Mash Christmas, unless there be something better. And maybe a yearly volume, something like that? Just Beatles and Xmas have to be somehow involved, you know what to do.

And if there are tracks out there, send them to me as well. I don't think we have to have a "new" compilation rule. In fact, I think I may raid some other BRG tracks for xmas song usage, and I think I did one or two in the past.

Post contributions here! Mid December cutoff date!

Ok i'll have a go, but it's my least favourite beatle theme. I hate listening to xmas tunes before xmas....and by the time xmas is here i'm sick of them! lol
And with an xmas theme I usually end up repeating a track i compiled on cassette in 1985!
P.S. don't use any of those that i did last year.....i don't like them!

Taking this suggestion at heart, does anyone want to play Santa and give the gift of re-mixing? The track in question is the deeply moving, spiritual song by George Harrison (no it's not My Sweet Lord) but the cut "Dear One" from his 1976 album Thirty Three & 1/3 that can be downloaded from the upload I just placed on Rapidshare though the link below, I only suggest this since my talent lies in art and not it the fantastic music that has been morphed by all you here. If not, the line " I gave at the office ..." will be gladly accepted :D

Track removed, PM me if you'd like to get a copy to mashup

This is very tricky!
The time signature is unusual, and there are no drums to follow!
But i had a go with the pella from Atomic Kitten's "Right Now", it almost works.
....just a short clip >>>

Yes I can see were it would be tricky to follow timing without a back beat, although I think the rhythm is in the acoustic guitar and the high hat cymbal of the drum kit and low whirling of the deep organ of Billy Preston. The deep, soulful female vocal from Atomic Kitten does add a bright warmth to the fairground type organ and adds almost a "beat" foundation for you to follow. You choice in "pella's" to sample from were best use in laying such a foundation. :D

Your recent mash of Wonderful Xmastime almost made it, but I couldn't bear having three of the same song on the mix, so I saved that one until Volume 2, when we can get some new goodies. I shouldn't have put Happy Xmas (War Is Over), it is an embarrassment of a mix, really, just to have it in there, I guess, my apologies on that. The reast are a lot of fun, though!
